About Project Wet

Teacher Training - Project Wet Workshop

Improvement District No. 4 (ID4) of the Kern County Water Agency (Agency) is proud to be a facilitator of Project WET (Water Education for Today).  Project WET is an environmental education program that promotes awareness, appreciation, knowledge and stewardship of water resources.  ID4 teacher workshops feature classroom-proven, action-based learning activities that make water topics come alive for students.  The Project WET workshops model activities that are practical for teachers, while engaging students’ critical thinking skills.  ID4 has tailored the activities to reflect local water resources and provides teachers with materials to incorporate them into their classrooms.  Teachers enjoy Project WET lessons because they are designed to complement existing curricula, rather than replace them.  All activities correlate with the Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards.

Seven people stand on a walkway with railings, peering over the edge. The sky is clear and blue. They appear to be observing something below, possibly participating in a Project WET activity focused on water education and environmental education.
